Blogging Tips

As a wedding business blogging can be your secret weapon to help you stand out amongst the competition and book more ideal clients. It is no doubt that the benefits of blogging for your wedding business severely outweigh the reasons not to blog (if there are even any). That’s why I’m sharing with you why it is important to to be blogging as a wedding professional.

The Importance Of Blogging As A Wedding Professional

Drives long-term traffic

The long-term benefits of blogging are astronomical when compared to those of social media. Previously in this DxD blog, I shared all about where to publish your content for the best return on investment. You will there learn that the long-term benefits of blogging are unparalleled compared to any other digital marketing channel.

Your blog will keep working for you over a year after your original post compared to social media posts that can have as short of a lifespan as only a few hours or even minutes. If a social media post doesn’t build traction in the first few minutes it may be a flop. Compared to your blog which is slowly working for you behind the scenes and building viewers with help from SEO and is steadily building your audience and expanding your reach for years to come.

Builds authority, trust & credibility

Trust is a vital component of wedding planning and it is important to set that foundation early on in the client relationship. Blogging serves as an excellent outlet to help establish authority, build credibility and trust as an experienced wedding professional in the wedding industry.

Blogging allows you to educate your audience by sharing valuable insights, tips and industry knowledge. You demonstrate your credibility as a seasoned wedding professional by sharing these tips and showcasing your expertise.

One way to help build your authority and credibility is by using backlinks and inbound links in your blogs. Essentially backlinks are links on other websites drawing traffic to your blog, in the wedding industry the most common version of this is by referencing the vendor team and getting featured on wedding blog websites. According to Hubspot, when you are referenced via a backlink from an authoritative website it serves as a vote of confidence to your audience and signals to Google that you’re trustworthy and an expert in your industry. Backlinks are said to be one of the top three most important factors in a successful SEO strategy.

Easily allows repurposing of content to other channels

At DxD we are a firm believer that blogging is a core pillar of a successful content marketing strategy. By publishing quality long-form content on your blog you are opening up a world of opportunities to repurpose that content across multiple platforms and channels. From social media posts on Instagram, pins on Pinterest and email newsletters you are expanding the reach and maximizing the impact of your blog post.

Learn how you can easily break down your blog post and repurpose it in seven different ways here!

Drives traffic to your website & increases visibility

Blogging regularly provides fresh, relevant content that search engines love. By incorporating strategic keywords related to your niche and cross-promoting your blog on other marketing channels such as social media you improve your website’s ranking on search engine results pages such as Google. According to HubSpot companies that blog get 55% more website visitors than businesses that don’t.

Helps convert traffic into leads

Betchya didn’t know that having a blog could help increase your leads!? It is said that companies with blogs produce on average 67% more leads per month than companies who do not have an active blog (DemandMetric).

One of my favourite ways to use your blog to help increase your leads is by using a lead-generating call to action within your blog copy. For example, if it was a real wedding blog post about a Fairmont Chateau Whistler wedding we would say “Book your free consultation call today to learn how we can help bring your dream Fairmont Chateau Whistler wedding to life!” Within this sentence, we would provide a hyperlink to your lead generation form where your audience can easily submit an inquiry.

Another way to go about this is to build your leads and audience through email marketing with help from your blog. If you post an educational blog topic and want to encourage viewers to join your email list for more tips I recommend hyperlinking your newsletter sign-up form within the text or a graphic.

Builds brand recognitions & Reinforces your brand voice

Your blog provides a unique opportunity for your audience to connect with your brand on a deeper level, offering insights into your voice, style, and values. By consistently communicating your brand identity through your blog content, you reinforce brand recognition and differentiate yourself from competitors. Whether it’s showcasing your signature aesthetic, sharing personal anecdotes or educating on a topic your blog helps cultivate a distinct and memorable brand identity in the minds of your audience.

Now that you understand the benefits of blogging for your wedding business and as you embrace the power of blogging, remember that it’s not just about driving traffic or generating leads. It’s about building a strong and recognizable brand identity that resonates with your audience. So, whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, make blogging a priority in your marketing efforts and watch as your wedding business flourishes for years to come!
