Social Media Tips

When it comes to building your online presence, having a solid social media strategy is a game changer. It’s not just about posting regularly; it’s about creating content that really speaks to your target audience. That is why we are sharing with you some simple yet effective social media marketing strategies to help you spend less time on marketing and more time creating unforgettable moments for your clients.

Social Media Marketing Strategy Tips For Wedding Pros

Use Content Buckets & Content Pillars

Creating generalized content for everyone will get you nowhere. That’s why we always recommend having clear content buckets and content pillars as part of your social media strategy. Doing so will help you create content targeted towards your audience & ideal clients. By creating strategic content that addresses your audience’s pain points & interests you are able to connect directly with your ideal client and your content will likely have more success.

Some examples of content buckets may include education content, inspiration content or personal content. Some examples of content pillars for a wedding planner may include wedding planning tips, wedding decor inspiration or behind-the-scenes content.

BONUS: If you have not already done so, head on over to Sam Jacobson’s podcast Own Your Business to learn the four different buyer types, what motivates them and how to sell to them. Use these buyer types when determining how to create content for your audience.

NOTE: We strongly encourage one of your pillars to show behind-the-scenes content. Whether it is behind-the-scenes content in stories, reels or static posts use this opportunity to showcase your team and the work that you do. Your audience ESPECIALLY brides wants to know the face behind the brand and who they will be working with. This helps build brand identity and trust and a lead is more likely to convert knowing what they are signing up for.

Quality Over Quantity

When it comes to social media, focus on high-quality posts over the quantity of posts. Posting every single day will not benefit you unless they are high-quality strategic posts.

Let me repeat that. Posting every single day will not benefit you unless they are high-quality strategic posts.

It is important to not over-post or under-post on social media, we recommend 3-5 posts a week or whatever you can consistently produce. Even though your social media feed is a portfolio and a reflection of your work don’t be too picky on how your grid looks. Long gone are the days of planned-out grid aesthetics. It is more beneficial to you to be posting fresh & relevant content that inspires your audience rather than older content that you are pulling from the archives just to put more content out there.

Focus On ONE Social Media Platform

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the social media platforms out there and spread yourself too thin. So, stick to one and do it really well. If your audience is not on Tik Tok and you struggle with creating consistent video content then Tik Tok is not the best platform for you.

Your time is limited so wouldn’t you rather be the master of one rather than mediocre at all?

This also goes for ads. Don’t waste time on paid ads if you do not have a social media strategy and are trying to dip your feet in everything. Paying to get your content out further without a strategy is a waste of time & money if you do not know who your ideal client is and how to attract them.

Consistency Is Key

Doing mass post dumps for 1-3 days and then going radio silent for a week will not help you. It is important to disperse your posts, reels & IG stories evenly throughout the month. Doing so will help spread your engagement with your audience throughout the month rather than bulking it all up in just one day.

If you find yourself doing this go ahead and make the content! That’s great! But just spread it out by scheduling it in advance every few days.

Being consistent with your social media schedule helps develop trust and brand identity with your audience. It shows you as an expert in the wedding industry and encourages your audience to return to your account at predictable times as loyal followers.

Incorporate Consistent Branding

Incorporating your branding in a consistent way is crucial for your ideal client to develop brand recognition with your brand identity.

Some elements to think about in how your brand shows up on social media include: using accurate brand colours, the same fonts, similar photo styles, similar audio clips, and similar tones in your captions (think about whether you are emoji brand or not). This is also crucial when editing videos for your account. Whether they are Instagram stories or Instagram Reels you should be consistent with the elements above.

One of the easiest ways to go about this is to have one person manage your social media, rather than several different people. It can be confusing for your audience if some posts are written differently than others, formatted differently, or are posts that are not relevant to your social media strategy. We can help you with this as part of our monthly social media management services!

Embrace Instagram Features

Even though it may not feel like it at times, Instagram is on your side and wants to help you get discovered! So, be sure that you are using this social media platform properly to help amplify your content & reach.

Some of our favourite Instagram features include geo-tagging, strategic hashtags, poll & question boxes in stories & reels, tagging and collaboration posts. This list is always changing as Instagram continues to launch new features.

By implementing these social media marketing best practices into your social media strategy you will elevate your online presence. And as a result, start attracting your ideal clients, and ultimately, book more weddings. We want to help you create a well-executed social media strategy so that you can spend less time on marketing and more time creating unforgettable moments for your clients.
